Sberbank Russia is Russia’s largest bank and a leading global financial institution. Sberbank holds almost one third of aggregate Russian banking sector assets, it is the key lender to the national economy and the biggest deposit taker in Russia. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation is the founder and principal shareholder of Sberbank. In April 2020, The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has acquired a controlling stake in Sberbank PJSC from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation – 50% of the authorized capital, or 52.32% of the bank’s entire pool of voting shares, with one ordinary voting share of Sberbank still owned by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
Sberbank has more than 96,2 million individual customers and 2,6 million corporate clients in 20 countries. Sberbank has the largest distribution network in Russia with almost 14,200 branches, and its international operations include UK, US, CIS, Central and Eastern Europe and other countries. The bank holds a general banking license No. 1481 issued by the Bank of Russia.
