Sberbank d. d. is a daughter bank of the Sberbank Europe AG Holding, which manages a banking network of nine universal banks in eight countries of Central and Eastern Europe: in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo and Banja Luka), Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia and Germany. In total the bank operates 188 branches and has 3,900 employees (as of 31.12.2019).
Sberbank Russia is the biggest bank in Russia, managing almost one third of all funds in the Russian banking sector. It was founded by the Central Bank of Russia. In April 2020, The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has acquired a controlling stake in Sberbank PJSC from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation – 50% of the authorized capital, or 52.32% of the bank’s entire pool of voting shares, with one ordinary voting share of Sberbank still owned by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
